Garscube Community Foundation
The Garscube Community Foundation was established in 2004 to respond to the needs of local groups within the area. The Foundation operates within the Queens Cross catchment area within North and North West Glasgow. The Foundation’s main activity focuses on fundraising for community projects and voluntary organisations working locally to provide services for those who are disadvantaged or have particular needs.
The Foundation is unique in that it is locally based and takes account of local situations and aims to respond appropriately. Criteria have been set by the Board of Trustees focusing on the needs of local people which includes a wide range of charitable activities. The underlying principles of the Foundation are the relief of poverty and the elimination of discrimination.
Priorities for supporting projects include community and social needs, recreational activities, health concerns, environmental issues, community responsibilities, education and training, volunteering and employment assistance.
The Foundation aims to fundraise by organising raffles and stalls at various events. It aims to encourage the business community to give corporate support on a continuous basis and would also appreciate any donations via the Give As you Earn Scheme.
All funds raised will be used to support work with local groups, both young and old. |
